What is a silk poster?
Silk-coated is the most popular type of paper that we print onto. The majority of our posters, leaflets and brochures using coated stock are printed onto high quality silk paper. Silk, unlike gloss, can be written on with a ballpoint pen – although writing on uncoated paper is still much easier.
Can you frame silk posters?
You can easily hang your silk poster using either poster hangers or a picture frame. These work great for long or very large posters. You can also mount your silk poster to a cardboard backing and place it inside a frame.
Can you iron silk posters?
Ironing. Place the poster face-side (the face side is the side with the ink) down on the ironing board. Set the iron to the lowest and/or gentlest setting with minimal or light steam. Iron the poster until the wrinkles aren’t noticeable or are no longer there.
Are fabric posters Good?
Fabric posters are high print quality, cheaper than paper posters, and so much easier to transport. The only downside is that you need to order them at least a week in advance for the best product. Fabric posters are increasingly popular at conferences, and there are many sources online.

Some simply lumped them in with the traditional paper posters and merely called them “posters”. Some had them designated as “cloth posters”, others as them “fabric prints” or “fabric posters”, and one had them listed under their “tapestry” header.

One effective method of framing without glass is wrap-stretching of the silk over a rigid support. In the same manner as canvas is stretched over a wooden frame (light-weight interlocking strips from any art supply), the silk can be pulled tautly across the frame and stapled to the back side, creating a finished edge.

Here’s what we suggest.
- Roll the poster out onto a flat surface, such as a table.
- Place a bed sheet or towel over the poster.
- Lightly spray the sheet or towel with water until it is slightly damp, not wet.
- Using the lowest heat setting on your iron, iron the poster through the sheet*
