How do I check the carburetor float on my motorcycle?
Physical Height Measurement Method With the chamber removed, tip the carb onto its side, in the same position it takes while fitted to the bike. Now blow into the fuel supply pipe, while simultaneously lifting the floats slowly until the air flow stops. This is the measuring point for the specified float height.
How do you adjust the float on a Mikuni carb?
On a 20 mm Mikuni carburetor it should be 7/8-inch. Use a precision ruler for this. Bend the metal tab on the float that rests against the float needle. Bend it towards the float needle if the measurement is shallow and away from the needle if the measurement is too much.
How do you change air fuel ratio?
You don’t adjust air/fuel ratio. It is controlled by computer, and the oxygen sensor(s) are used to determine whether the mixture is too rich or too lean. Mixture, idle speed, and ignition timing are now all automated and are not adjustable.
